Twitch streamer ‘Jinnytty’ has had a successful run in the content creation and live-streaming space, specifically on the Amazon owned video game streaming platform and earned even more money during a recent stream, with a condition attached.
Jinny, who has amassed over 990,000 followers and is considered one of the more popular travel streamers on Twitch, was left stunned when one of her viewers donated $10,000 to her during a stream under one condition – “take us on a cruise ship of your choice with two options: Chinese Yangtze River, or 14 days around New Zealand.”
Moments after sending the donation, the viewer left the following message: “I give you the cash so you have the freedom to choose the journey and time you wish to travel. Give me a call off-stream sometime, if you want to see my deep blue ocean eyes? You know how to find me.”
“What’s going on?” Jinny questions. “I gotta process this. That’s a lot of money. Are you sure about this?”
The viewer sent more messages to Jinny, which she shared on stream with one saying that the viewer who donated had a rare muscle disease that would “kill him” over the next “10-15 years”.
Jinny said that she would use the money to go on a cruise and live-stream the experience for all of her viewers.
Jinny’s popularity has mostly been due to her traveling and experiences with people during her trips, raising the question if a travel streaming platform would be viable. However, following the collapse of HeyGo, a live travel streaming platform, it seems like that niche may not be as viable in a streaming space.
