Stake video game streaming platform Kick has been known to shell out the big bucks to get some of the biggest steamers in the industry, most notably some of the most popular Twitch streamers over the years, and now they seem to be linked to former Twitch steamer and current YouTube star Dr Disrespect.
Dr Disrespect was one of the top streamers on Twitch prior to his mysterious permanent ban from the platform back in 2020, which forced him to take his talents to YouTube where he has remained ever since.
While platforms have come and gone over the years, Dr Disrespect has stayed at YouTube, however chatter on social media has linked him to potentially joining Kick for their 2.o launch.
Kick Head of Strategic Partnerships Andrew Santamario discussed it during one of his recent Kick streams that aired back on May 24th.
“He tweeted at us after we signed xQc that he wanted $50M and yeah” he said during the stream. “He’s an amazing streamer but we need to ground things in reality.”
This isn’t a departure from comments that Kick’s Head of Product Paulie Chianese made over a year about regarding Dr Disrespect.
For now, it doesn’t appear that Dr Disrespect will be taking his talents to Kick anytime soon.
