Kick streamer and co-owner Adin Ross has shot down rumors that he backed off from his offer to viral TikToker Lieutenant Dan, who went viral during this week’s Hurricane Milton storm, for a new boat and a Kick contract.
54-year-old Joseph Malinowski went viral on the ByteDance short form platform ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall in the state of Florida, and earned the name ‘Lieutenant Dan’ (inspired by the character in Forrest Gump), as he stayed in his 20-foot sailboat throughout the entirety of the storm.
Ross brought the man on his livestream and offered him a brand new boat and deal to stream on Kick.
“We’re going to pay for a boat for you… in the range of $50,000 to $100,000…and we’re going to get you a full-time Kick deal, which is a livestreaming deal, where you can livestream your entire voyages” Ross said.
It was later revealed that Malinowski has a police record, which led to rumors that Ross backed out of the offer.
However, Ross has since shot down those rumors:
“I said this right after the clip where I reacted to lieutenant Dan , I never said I was taking the offer/deal/boat away , the internet loves to make me look bad” Ross said during a livestream where he talked about the rumors.
“Dan is getting his boat and he’s getting everything,” Ross added. “Leave that man alone. I’ll make sure he gets the boat, money, everything.
