VTubing star Ironmouse says that breaking Kai Cenat’s Twitch subscriber record will help all VTubers, a community of content creators that have been on the rise in popularity over the last few years.
Ironmouse climbed the mountaintop in late September when she managed to break Twitch streamer Kai Cenat’s long-standing record of the most subscribers at any point on the Twitch video game streaming platform.
Cenat is now on a quest to reclaim the top spot, something Ironmouse is supporting, but the Vtuber says that her position at the top is a benefit for all Vtubers.
“I have people from the Vtuber community [who feel] like this is a big step, to be seen. And I agree — because we kind of have our own little bubble going on, and it’s just nice that people are learning about what Vtubers are and what we’re about,” Ironmouse sad, during an interview with Rolling Stone.
“I know it can be a little bit confusing to see, you know, an anime girl on screen. ‘What is that? What is happening here?’ But it helps making it a bit more normalized.”
