This week, I was able to successfully acquire the Hover.gg domain name at auction, and it is now a part of our media portfolio.
Most of you remember Hover as a controversial clip-sharing app, and many were part of it in some form or fashion. I completely respect those who had a positive experience and maintain a positive opinion of the name, and I also respect those who had a negative experience, and have negative feelings attached to the name.
I was in the latter. I found the app to be rout with problems, specifically from a genuine growth and engagement aspect.
I want to assure everyone reading this that our acquisition of Hover.gg is solely the domain. I had and have no interest in the business. Or the app. Or any content/data associated with it, nor was any of it involved in the acquisition. No prior owners are, or will be involved, with Hover.
This is to take the Hover.gg brand and make the difficult journey in re-branding it. Re-building it. And make it a truly positive and useful place.
Moving forward, it will be a new/media outlet for covering content creation, content creators, influencers, the industry, and be an exclusive news source for the upcoming Disko streaming platform.
I assure you I will work hard, rely on my experience, and lean in on my work ethic to build the new Hover brand into something we can all feel more positive about, and can help us at Disko do something truly amazing and innovative in the industry.
Thank you!
